Youth Tennis Training
Beginning January 4, 2023
This is a continuous tennis program to enable Woodland youth to learn the basics of tennis over a period of one year. By the end of 2023 most students should be able to serve, return a serve, and rally for a few points. They will come to understand the rules of the game and how to keep score. A big part of tennis is line calling and keeping the score correct. This is important to make courtesy and honesty towards one’s opponent an important part of the Game of Tennis.
Youth ages 7 through 11 are eligible. These ages are when children can learn quickly.
Parental cost is $27 per month with the Woodland Tennis Club also paying $27. The Woodland Tennis Club will handle signups with the City of Woodland and collect monies monthly.
Lessons are to be scheduled on Wednesdays at 3:00 PM to 4:15 PM. During the hot summer when school is out lessons will continue on Thursdays at 8:00 AM until 9:15 AM.
All lessons are to be held at Woodland City Park.
Parents and students are expected to do their best to stay with the program for one full year.
The Tennis Club will do their best to make the lessons fun and to provide ways that the students can make friends with each other.
